09:00 am Depart from Marmaris onboard a luxury catamaran ferry fort the 50 minute trip to Rhodes.

10:00 am Arrive at Rhodes harbour,(10.00 – 10.30 Passport formalities in Rhodes harbour)

Excursion Plan

 

First you will tour via the bustling, modern town to St.Stephen’s Hill,known locally as Monte Smith and home to the site of the acropolis of ancient Rhodes.Here,you will take a brief tour around the magnificent archealogical park to see Hellenisctic Stadium,built in the 3rd century BC and where the athletic events of the Alioi Games took place,and theTemple of Pythion Apollo, the patron deity of the city, at the summit of the acropolis.

 

After exploring the Monte Smith Hill you will get back on the coach to return the old town of Rhodes,from where your tour continues on foot.

 

A World Heritage Site, the Medieval town of Rhodes we see today was created by extensions and fortifications to the walls of the Byzantine city by the Knights of Saint John in the 14th and 15th centuries.Among it’s cobbled streets, the feeling is very much like has stood stil, and there wonders glore just waiting to be discovered.

 

Explore further down narrow,winding streets to see the moat and walls with their ramparts,Byzantine churches and Otoman mosques as well as the baths, (hamam), and the many courtyards and squares of the old houses, covered with tumbling bougainvillea.

At aproximately 12.15 – 12.30 pm you will arrive to Socrates Square in the town centre.Take advantage of some free time for souvenir shopping or relaxing in a street cafe with an iced dirnk and watching the world go by.
